Vanity vs Health
August 16, 2009
Into my 5th day of having vege-only meal during either lunch or dinner, I managed to stay in course with the goals that I set – eating vege-only Yong Tau Foo (8 pieces) at least once a day until this week ends.
As dinner is approaching, I felt a sense of achievement in terms of the discipline that I have integrated into my daily life, especially this week. With a well balanced swimming and yong tau foo days, I think after this week ends, I might even develop a habit of having Yong Tau Foo meal at least once a day! But perhaps, there will be an additional tinge of flavour by adding a little bit of fried stuffs and “mie sua”. As I had said in my previous post, I wouldn’t want my friends to see me as someone who over-indulged in nutrional diet (Guitared body).
Health is the priority here. There must be times when flowing tempation grew in us to eat more sinful meals. But fear not, once we have got into the groove of eating Yong Tau Foo a day, losing weight wouldn’t be a problem. There’s a famous saying, “An apple a day, keeps the doctor away”. In my case, “A vege-only Yong Tau Foo meal a day, keeps the fats away”. At least, that is what I believed in till now.
Though my goal of eating Yong Tau Foo for the 5th day were accomplished, I still have to monitor what I eat during the day. But I believe if hunger kicks in during tea time, we can always pamper ourselves a ice tea-milk or ice yuan yang. Most probably, if you try this nutrional diet, you will get hungry when the clock reaches 6pm. Well….that’s exactly what I am feeling now.
So, till next time folks! =)
I would say…Perseverance is Key

Food Highlights Number 1
August 3, 2009
If money really is an object, then The Indonesian Cuisine (The Amara hotel, Tanjong Pagar, foodcourt Level 4) comes to the rescue.
Priced at $5 and $4.50, try tucking into Ikan pangang and Ayam pangang. The taste is authentic but the spice is HOT. Nevertheless, the dishes alone are fragrant and delicious.
Service is pretty quick and efficient and won’t need much help selecting your food thanks to the mouth-watering pictorial menu.
Are you doing up a party or potluck anytime soon? If you are, The Indonesian Cuisine do prepare take-away menus upon request.
And a few metres away, do order kiwi juice for what I call – a complete meal. Overall I give today’s meal at The Indonesian Cuisine, 3.5/5 stars. A good meal~

Casual Saturday – Ignoring attractive faces…
May 16, 2009
Ticking session
Possible [ ] Impossible [ ]
Sitting on a comfortable chair at The Coffee Connoisseur (TCC), accompanied by a glass of Hazelnut brewed coffee. After reading a biography of Seth Godin and skimming through Neuroscience articles, I realized that I began to lose my focus. Don’t be too hard on yourself if you are experiencing this, because research have shown that “Most people have an attention span of only about 15 mins,” which we have to develop over time.
I was into writing my blog, researching – - until an attractive woman (more afterward) walked past the table. While noticing her, I can’t help but to cast a quick glance at her beauty as a whole.
At this point in time, a thought came to me (Thank GOD that I don’t have my “sensitive” friend with me, which if I do…there might be a need to give lots of explaining to her, and perhaps ending my answer with) “Err…she’s not prettier than you lah.” Phew!~ (*.*)
But anyway, my question to you is….Is it impossible for US to ignore attractive faces coming our way?
For me: I guess I have to either blame it on my short attention span or perhaps just accept that it is ALMOST impossible to ignore attractive faces. Shoosh!

Do it the “Folk Food” Way
April 30, 2009
Woke up around 8.30am today and had a pretty decent breakfast at home. Thanks to my cousin for bringing a “not too bad” mee goreng for me. After which I proceeded on to do my chores and the follow-up next was some Final Fantasy 10 and Reader’s Digest.
Anyway, there’s two interesting things that I would to share with you today in regards to:
- Wine investment (Went out with cousin to Tanjong Pagar) and;
- Bugis Iluma “Folk Food”
Wine investment Learning Points:
- Realized that wine investment has been around in Singapore since 2003 and the history of the best France, Bordeaux First Growth wines stretched to 1855;
- There’s 5 First Growth wines that is good for investment;
- Château Lafite Rothschild Médoc (Pauillac)
- Château Margaux Médoc (Margaux)
- Château Latour Médoc (Pauillac)
- Château Haut-Brion Pessac-Leognan
- Château Mouton-Rothschild Médoc (Pauillac)

What is no opportunity wasted? To me, it was the enthusiasm that Food Folks staffs exuded. Good marketing skills, I would say. We were just looking around the menu before he “pounced” right at us and “sold” himself and the menu well. It was an eye opener to get to see how hard he worked to get us to patronize the restaurant. (Btw, It was the first time that I got “engaged” to eat at a place so non-aggressively and persuaded. Good Job Folks! Credit to your Art of Persuasion.
Last but not least, we hopped into Film Garde Cinema to watch X-Man Origins – Wolverine. Overall, It was a good show accompanied by a good neck raiser. The cushion for the neck was simply perfect. Just fit perfectly, and it was comfortable for me. For $7 pricing on a Wednesday and a new experience? Hopped on Guys!

April 8, 2009

Hi Guys, am Glad to be part of WordPress! It excites me to get started with my first Blog! Anyway, Here’s my first post for the day.
Let’s picture this: Fletcher is reading N.O.W, away at one corner of Kopi Alley…and almost casted away from the crowd…Sipping his warm Tea-Milk…SHOOSH!! *he Looked distracted for a moment!
“Ahem!” Okok, Back to No Opportunity Wasted book (Phil Keoghan, 2004) that I’m reading N.O.W. It says that if one wants to have a fulfilled life, there is a need to “face one’s fear”, to “express oneself,” to “get lost,” or to “test one’s limits.” *morse coding…
Well, I love to indulge myself in something new everyday. However, there’s so many good things to learn and the process of “facing one’s fear”, “express oneself,” “get lost,” or to “test one’s limits” is no boubt, Challenging. It is like going into a victoria secret fashion show, asking yourself which models you loved most – if you could choose just one – and why…
If you were to ask me, I would prefer to contemplate about the latter! LoL!
As I closed my eyes (resting2) “Pai seh” cannot tahan long day in front of comp, *Pondering…
1. Where’s my Kaya Bread?
2. What to do after I’m done with my tea?
3. What to improve on today?
