Laughter!

A lady goes to her priest one day and tells him, “Father, I have a problem. I have two female parrots, but they only know how to say one thing. They say, “Hi, we’re hookers! Do you want to have some fun?”
“That’s obscene!” the priest exclaimed. “You know,” he said, “I may have a solution to your problem. I have two male talking parrots, which I have taught to pray and read the Bible. Bring your two parrots over to my house, and we’ll put them in the cage with Frank and Jacob. My parrots can teach your parrots to pray and worship, and your parrots are sure to stop saying that phrase in no time.”
The next day, the lady brought her female parrots to the priest’s house. She saw that his two male parrots were inside their cage, holding rosary beads and praying. Impressed, she walked over and placed her parrots in with them.
After a few minutes, the female parrots cried out in unison: “Hi, we’re hookers! Do you want to have some fun?”
There was stunned silence. Shocked, one male parrot looked over at the other male parrot and exclaimed, “Put the beads away, Frank. Our prayers have been answered!”

Get Instant Energy
August 17, 2009
Source: RD YOU September08 edition
YOUR BODY CREATES ENERGY from nutrients, oxygen and invigorating stimuli, such as fragrance. Natural mood, beauty and body boosters such as these suit our increasingly busy lives because they provide an instant life and are so simple to do each day.
Massage your ears. According to traditional CHinese medicine, stimulating acupressure points on your ears increases blood circulation, and thus energy. Vigorously rub your ears all over for about a minute. They should start to feel hot and, almost immediately, you should feel more alert. Start at the lobe and massage to the top of the ear.
Taking a power shower. Sprinkle eucalyptus oil on the floor of your shower before stepping in. Stand under steaming hot water and rub your body with loofah. (I just realized that loofah is a washing sponge. Well, I just learned something new.) The eucalyptus scent stimulates your brain, while the hot water and the rubdown increase blood flow, sending oxygen to your cells where it’s transformer into energy.
Wake up with a break. Your body can only handle about 45 minutes of sitting without becoming fatigued. Get up and march around briskly for three to five minutes, or do some quick stretches or squats. (Yes, I truly agree with this one~)
Make a splash. Dip a face washer in cold water and wet both the front and back of your neck. Then gargle with cold water for a couple of seconds. Your neck and throat are rich with sensitive nerves, and by stimulating them with the cold water, you shock them into the ‘fight-or-flight’ reaction, which temporarily shifts more blood towards your brain. (Perhaps I gonna try the neck washing tomorrow when I feel kinda tired – Get Instant Energy!
And Yes, I’m still on Yong Tau Foo (YTF) routine~
But today, I didn’t manage to turn away my craving for Hotdog-Fries meal…
Fear not, for I am ready for tomorrow…
Ready to make splash at the swimming pool!
Massaging my ears…

When did people start eating with a knife and fork?
August 12, 2009
Source: Reader’s Digest August09 edition
Well into the 17th century, knives and spoons were the only cutlery used – an ever needed, as food was either dry or soupy, so could be cut or supped. Large two-pronged forks were used in the kitchen for preparation purposes only, though refined diners in Greece and Italy had for some time used a smaller version at the table.
The modern curved, four-tined fork was invented in Germany in the 18th century. Around this time, the dinner knife evolved a rounded end – its spearing function now obsolete.
It was only in the 19th century that forks became prevalent in the United States, where they were often called “split spoons”. The late adoption of the fork goes some way to explaining the modern American habit of cutting food, then transfering the fork to the other hand and using it as a spoon-like scoop.

Our hands together
August 6, 2009
Credited this article to Reader’s Digest August09 edition
Why do we tradionally pray with our hands together?
We know from tomb art that the first Christians prayed with their arms raised and the palms of the hands held upwards – position known as the “orant”. “I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer,” wrote the author of the Book of Timothy.
It is not clear when Christians began clasping their hands to pray, but it may derive from the medieval ceremony of “commendation,” in which a vassal pledges allegiance to a king. From a devotional point of view, clasping hands and closing eyes are a way of creating stillness for the soul.

Best Friends
August 4, 2009
I find this article very meaningful. It’s adapted from: Our daily bread. Enjoy Light reading it~
When I signed up for a popular Internet social network, I was shocked to be greeted with the words, “You have no friends.” Although I knew it was untrue, I still felt sad for a moment. The idea that anyone, even an impersonal Web site, would call me friendless was upsetting. Friends are essential for our emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being.
Friends listen to our heartaches without blaming us for having problems. They defend us when we’re under attack. They are happy when we succeed and sad when we fail. They give us wise counsel to keep us from making foolish choices. They even risk making us angry for the sake of making us right. My friends have done all of this and more for me.
Perhaps the best-known friendship in the Bible is that of Jonathan and David. Jonathan was heir to the throne of his father Saul. But he knew that the Lord had chosen David for that role, so he risked his own life to save his friend (1 Sam. 20).
As the Bible shows us, we need to choose friends carefully (Prov. 12:26). The very best friends are those who are friends with God and who strengthen our relationship with Him (1 Sam. 23:16). — Julie Ackerman Link
I do not ask for many friends,
But give me, Lord, the few
Whose loyalty and faithfulness
Are first of all to You. —Meadows
True friends are like diamonds—precious and rare.

Casual Saturday – Ignoring attractive faces…
May 16, 2009
Ticking session
Possible [ ] Impossible [ ]
Sitting on a comfortable chair at The Coffee Connoisseur (TCC), accompanied by a glass of Hazelnut brewed coffee. After reading a biography of Seth Godin and skimming through Neuroscience articles, I realized that I began to lose my focus. Don’t be too hard on yourself if you are experiencing this, because research have shown that “Most people have an attention span of only about 15 mins,” which we have to develop over time.
I was into writing my blog, researching – - until an attractive woman (more afterward) walked past the table. While noticing her, I can’t help but to cast a quick glance at her beauty as a whole.
At this point in time, a thought came to me (Thank GOD that I don’t have my “sensitive” friend with me, which if I do…there might be a need to give lots of explaining to her, and perhaps ending my answer with) “Err…she’s not prettier than you lah.” Phew!~ (*.*)
But anyway, my question to you is….Is it impossible for US to ignore attractive faces coming our way?
For me: I guess I have to either blame it on my short attention span or perhaps just accept that it is ALMOST impossible to ignore attractive faces. Shoosh!

Money Crazy (Jap Drama)
May 10, 2009

Today, I completed Money Crazy. It’s acted by Matsuyama Kenichi who also act on Death Note. The famous “L”.
Money Crazy is a pretty good drama series. It makes one think; To what extent a person can do for Money. Anyway, the drama explores a family and individuals who at first believed that “Money is not the most important thing in life, It is the Heart”.
But the influence of Matsuyama Kenichi (Gamagori Futaro) was too big that they succumbs to the “Power” of Money. Those individuals do have a valid reason though, on why they throw away their values to accept $$$ from Gamagori Futaro who believes that Money is the most important in life. It is to save their closed ones – a son who will be going to jail if debts are not paid; wife who has a sickness that cannot be cured unless she is sent abroad to receive treatment and many more. All these need $$$…
Conclusion: One’s values might be breached when circumstances revolved around family, loved ones, friendships…
What do you think? Money is the root of All Evil? Well…personally, I think money is only “for us to use, not to love.”

balancing Act
April 10, 2009

Sports act as a medium towards a healthier lifestyle. For two weeks in a row, I have my basketball routines with friends. It was a very rejuvenating dosage of energy boosting sport. Then I thought, how long has it been for me to get involved in sports games such as basketball, badminton, soccer, etc.
Therefore, I came into conclusion that I have to balance my readings, music videos, drama watching and sports. Perhaps before this past two weeks, I have been indulging myself too much into drama watching and music videos, Korean dramas+music videos…Before continuing…Firstly, Lee Hyori for you!

Anyway, those drama watching and MV, I believe that they can be educational too to a certain extent:
- Get to know more about Korean entertainment industry news;
- Get to know what’s the habits of Koreans’ actors or actresses’ while acting in dramas and music videos (Love their Talking eyes, especially Lee Hyori);
- Have a little understanding about Korean languages and MORE of course.
Nevertheless, Balancing education, sports and entertainment is a must. (Nods2) Leaving out any of them might effect the other. (Nods2) Especially when there’s exam. “No entertainment!” “No sports!” In the end not only the results that sufferred, but both sports and entertainment knowledge got into the DIP too…
Anyway, Time to fill my stomach cabinet!
Stretching my back,
Thinking what’s for dinner,
